[MM]: Should you do crunches every day?

Hello Reader,

Heya Fit Travel Tribe!

On this Monday Momentum, let's talk about functional core training AND how you can earn free travel just by paying your rent.

You heard me...Paying rent = FREE travel! (It's just swiping the right card and YES, you can pay with a check)

But first things first....a quick word about ABS!

πŸ‘‰Does anyone WANT to do 100 sit ups or crunches?

πŸ‘‰Should you do them every day?

How about NAH - let's talk functional core training πŸ€©β€‹

First off...

➑ Your core is your whole trunk (including the attachments of your arms and legs; including the back of your body)

➑ Basic crunches only focus on one section - they target the front of your torso (to get that 6-pack)

➑ But then you're missing key muscle groups and functionality of your core (like stabilizers)

INSTEAD:
βœ… Ditch the mundane crunches, and check out these top integrated exercises

Also, this FREE airport exercise routine gave me a laugh (don't knock it til you try it!)

Reminder: When exercising in public, you do you, and don't give a f*ck if anyone could be watching.

🌟Notes from the Fit Travel Trail

Hola! I literally just arrived in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico β˜€ πŸ‡²πŸ‡½

I've been on several airplanes within the last week ✈✈✈

  • I finished my last, beautiful week in Sofia (ironically with a tasty margarita & Mexican dinner with my partner)
  • Last Monday I had a super long travel day (5am flight; long layover; and 10.5 hour second flight) to hit up CHICAGO!
  • My first to-do was to spend just about 24 hours in a Korean Spa (including sleeping there overnight!)
  • Explored the Pilsen neighborhood street art, took in the beautiful sites along Lake Michigan (the trail is SO long and I did maybe only half of the 18.5 miles)
  • Cheered and celebrated at a wedding, joining some of my beloved sorority sisters from college
  • And then popped over to Mexico - super duper fresh as of today (even had street tacos with my host, and then deeply needed a siesta afterwards)

Check out some visual highlights:

The salt room at the 24/7 Korean Spa in Chicago. Very relaxing way to spend a full day as a post-long travel day recovery

Was super psyched to FINALLY wear my beautiful tailor-made Vietnamese silk dress (shoutout to this awesome spot in Hanoi)

The beautiful bride!!! (And this is my other dress. I'm obsessed with this pop of color)

The Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago is known for having the most street art in the nation! AND YES it does haha

Enjoying the lakefront trail in Chicago. Gorgeous walk along Lake Michigan. I truly understand why it's famous.

Couchsurfing host #3, but now in Mexico. First up - enjoyed street tacos for lunch.

Probably my favorite wedding photo with my Iota Sigma Beta sorority sisters ❀❀❀

My current view finishing this newsletter. Couchsurfing hosts's balcony in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

I'm in the midst of lots of content creation (sometimes perhaps spreading myself a little thin). But I'm SO excited, which means I'm clearly doing what I love.

Moreover, I'm still super psyched at my new layout on my Stay Fit page (for all general active travel tips). Check it out HERE

🌟I'm almost done with my blog post on my 24/7 Korean Spa experience! I just have too many photos to upload haha🌟

The BILT Credit Card lets you earn points on rent without a transaction fee (even if your landlord doesn’t accept cards). Seriously - you can write a check and it acts like a bank account!

βœ… Those points can be used for flights, hotels, and even transfer to partners like Hyatt or American Airlines.
βœ… No annual fee. Ohβ€”and did I mention bonus offers on rent day?

If you pay rent, you should absolutely have this credit card! How else can you EARN while spending money on housing every month. Might as well get some travel out of it, right?

Honestly....it's as simple as it sounds.
