| Hello Reader,β Heya Fit Travel Tribe, This Monday Momentum's got me thinking about my budget plus....CARBS!!! π When "breakfast included" means carb overload π Picture this: I'm staying at this epic cave hostel in Cappadocia. Breakfast included! Score, right? WRONG!!! Three massive pieces of bread, 2 cucumber slices, 2 tomato pieces, one sad hard-boiled egg, and honey packets. (I'm not surprised, but I'm also not happy) For travelers trying to hit a protein goal: "breakfast included" doesn't always mean "breakfast that healthfully fuels your adventures." β β Merhaba!ππ (mer-HA-ba) π Hello from Cappadocia, TΓΌrkiye! Land of fairy chimneys, cave hotels, and hot air balloons (of course). I'm in GΓΆreme, the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage site where people literally carved homes into volcanic rock. And yup, I'm traveling....again. I have 2.5 weeks outside the Schengen area and it's my third time visiting this beautiful (and massive country). Here are some quick highlights since last time:
β So I'm officially OBSESSED with this budget protein cooking hack for future accommodations! (Sorry y'all, it's not vegan) β Cooking EGGS in a hot water kettle. YUPPPP it works!!! π£π£π£ β Curious about what other healthy foods to make in a hostel without a full kitchen? β Check out my newest blog post for the complete breakdown. ππ π β
This isn't just another "eat bread and survive" hostel guide - it's your blueprint for staying nourished without breaking the bank.
π Seville, Spain --- where flamenco classes become unexpected HIIT training ππ₯ In my hostel in Cappadocia, another long-time traveler mentioned some favorite cities including: Seville, Spain. I haven't been....yet... BUT it got me thinking about what might be a featured physical activity that would make sense to double as a cultural immersion + heart-pumping workout. Think flamenco is just graceful dancing? Try a zapatado (footwork) class in Seville's Triana neighborhood. Traditional flamenco footwork is essentially explosive plyometric training disguised as art - rapid-fire heel strikes, toe taps, and sudden direction changes that'll torch your calves and test your cardiovascular endurance. β‘A typical 90-minute flamenco class burns 400-600 calories through constant ankle mobility work, calf raises, and balance challenges. β‘The palmas (hand clapping) adds upper body coordination while maintaining the intense lower body rhythm. β‘Local academies like FundaciΓ³n Cristina Heeren offer drop-in classes where you'll sweat more than most CrossFit sessions. π So what does this mean? Pack breathable workout clothes, bring water, and prepare for your ankles to feel like they've done 200 calf raises - because they basically have. Ready to dance your way to fitness? πThe Great Cappadocia Food Math (Why I'll always choose kitchen access) Inspired by ONE day without kitchen access in Cappadocia (it's SOOOO expensive here!) When you're planning your budget for your travels, consider the accommodation-cooking correlation. β π‘If you have access to a kitchen (minimal appliances), you can save TONS on food! β * * * πͺ Speaking of staying fueled on the road... When hostel breakfast fails you, having backup protein is everything. Here are my FAVORITE Amazon protein bars you can pack in advance:
